INTERNATIONAL TRADE UNION SYMPOSIUM
“FIDEL & THE INTERNATIONAL WORKING CLASS”
8 February 2023 | 18:00pm (Greek time)
INVITATION
The International Workers’ Institute (IWI) and the CTC invite you to the international trade union symposium in commemoration of the 84 years of life and action of the heroic CTC.
Dear friends, comrades, we are living through a period in which the United States and its allies continue with the blockade of many years against the proud Cuban people. It is the duty of all of us to continue and strengthen our practical solidarity with Cuba and its leadership.
Let us join the heroic CTC that, from its foundation until today, has been a pioneer in the struggle of Cuban workers and an iconic internationalist reference for the world trade union movement.
Commemorating its 84th anniversary, we honor its leaders who played a leading role in the international trade union movement of the world working class; Among the first is the emblematic leader Lázaro Peña, founding leader of the WFTU and fellow fighter of Fidel Castro.
We chose the date of our International Trade Union Symposium because it combines both the founding date of the CTC, January 28, 1939, and the date close to the funeral honors for Comandante Fidel Castro Ruz.
