We are beginning a new cycle at the International Workers’ Institute, and I wish to greet this Assembly, which is tasked with establishing the educational guidelines for the future.

The need to change the world is becoming increasingly urgent, and we can expect nothing from anyone except the masses of the dispossessed. While their numbers grow day by day, they are provided only with biased Training and Information—deficiencies fostered by the capitalist system which, ultimately, seeks to prevent us from having any Organization. It is an absolute necessity to place the knowledge acquired in a battle that often goes unnoticed—the ideological struggle—at the service of the working class.

It is our purpose to provide, both in practice and in theory, the elements for the emancipation of the working class, so that capitalism may be overcome and end up in the dustbin of history.
