IWI Hosts Online Presentation of “Blue-Collar Empire”
On June 23, the IWI hosted a compelling online presentation of Jeff Schuhrke's important book, Blue-Collar Empire: The Untold Story of US Labor’s Global Anticommunist Crusade. The event drew the participation of over 50 trade unionists and cadres from 22 countries, reflecting broad international interest in this critical history.

“Critical Notes” Travels Through Italy: Class Struggle Echoes in Rome and Turin
With a militant spirit and the outstanding participation of young workers, USB-Italy organized two successful presentations of George Mavrikos’s book “Critical Notes on the History of the World Trade Union Movement – Issues of Tactics and Strategy.” in Roma and Turin.
The International Workers' Institute (IWI) participated in the 20th Congress of FISE (World Federation of Teachers' Unions) which was organized in Rabat, Morocco, on 5 and 6 April, 2025.
We salute the mothers who fight for a better future for their children. We salute the single mothers who work and care for their children bearing on their shoulders all the weight of the world. We salute the Palestinian woman and mother who is the embodiment of heroism in our times.
The future of the international working class and the peoples of the world lies in creating a world free of exploitation and classes. The WFTU is a vital part of this struggle.
The book ''Critical Notes on the History of the World Trade-Union Movement, Issues of Tactics and Strategy’’ is worth studying and I suggest that the book presentation sessions be organized in every city and in as many as possible locations in the countries across the continents region. It should be translated into every language and taught in trade union schools and trade union seminars.
As we welcome 2025, the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) extends its militant and class greetings to workers, trade unionists, and progressive peoples around the world. The new year is an opportunity to renew our determination to continue the struggles for workers’ rights, peace and social justice.
On 10 December the IWI Symposium on "Artificial Intelligence and the Trade Union Movement" was successfully held through ZOOM. More than 90 trade unionists from 35 countries participated in the seminar.
